Halloween Ceramic Workshops

Create a creppy creature from air drying clay, maybe a bat, smider or gruesome rat! Activities vary day to day and carry an addition charge.

Shropshire Royal British Legion County Festival of Remembrance

The Royal British Legion in Shropshire invites one and all to join us for our Annual Festival of Remembrance at the Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury. Compered by Eric Smith (BBC Radio Shropshire) the programme includes the Shrewsbury Brass Band, Jigsaw Sound Choir, singer Sadie-Beth and RAF Shawbury. The evening concludes with the formal Service of Remembrance. All proceeds to The Poppy Appeal. Tickets available from the theatre.

Steam Threshing Weekends

The season ends in a spectacular way, the last two weekends of October the whole team comes together to run the steam engine and threshing machine. Whole stalks of wheat are fed in through the top and separated in to chaff, grain and straw. The straw is then baled up with the steam powered bailer. Listen out for the toot of the horn before the action starts!

Ghostly Gaslight (Evening Event)

Dress in your most scary costume and look out for ghosts, ghouls and monsters as you walk the shadowy streets. Amazing light and sound effects plus a family firework display. Tickets must be purchased in adavnce either onlince, at the museum shops or Ironbridge Visitor Information Centre.

Farm and Forest School Holiday Club

Holiday Club for ages 8+ every Tuesday and Thursday of the school holidays. Farm, and Forest School, mud, sticks, marshallows, goats, rabbits etc. Parents do not need to stay. Booking is essential.

Tile Decorating Workshop at Jackfield Tile Museum

Join a drop-in tile decorating workshop between 10am and 2.30pm and try the tube lining technique to produce your own ceramic masterpiece; you could make a collection of coasters, a circular door plaque or a gift for a loved one on a heart shaped tile. Activities vary from day-to-day; tiles cost from £5 each and can be fired and sent home later for a small extra charge to cover postage and packing. It takes up to 1½ hours to decorate your tile so last admission to the workshops is 2pm.

Sit outside in the large garden at North Farm B&B Shrewsbury, bring a bottle of wine, soak up the views and spot the wildlife on our doorstep. Swallows and House Martins are in abundance in the summer months, together with sparrow hawks and buzzards.
